Tips for Changing a Flat Tire

At some point, you may find yourself stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. However, changing a tire is not difficult and could save time in the long run if you do the repair yourself. Apply the emergency brake and turn on the flashers. Remove the hubcap if necessary, and use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts by going counterclockwise. Position the jack under the vehicle as recommended.

Lift the car at least six inches from the ground. Remove the lug nuts, remove the tire and replace it with the spare. Replace the lug nuts and turn them clockwise until tight. Use the lug wrench to finish tightening the nuts in the sequence explained in the owner's manual. Lower the vehicle, replace all of your tools and bring your vehicle to the Allegheny Toyota service department to have your flat tire repaired or replaced.
